How is the virus transmitted?

The recent infections with H3N2v have occurred after contact with pigs. Influenza (flu) viruses are thought to spread from infected pigs to humans in the same way that seasonal flu viruses spread between people. Seasonal flu is spread through close contact with sick people who may spread their infections through coughs or sneezes. Since the virus has not continued spreading beyond one or two people, it is considered less contagious among people than the seasonal flu.
