At a minimum federal law requires renovators to distribute the EPA pamphlet “Renovate Right: Important Lead Hazard Information for Families, Child Care Providers, and Schools" to owners and occupants of most housing or child occupied facilities built prior to 1978 before commencing renovation activities that disrupt more than 2 square feet of paint.
